SPECIAL NEWS BULLETIN

FOX NEWSCHANNEL 3PM EST- FOX Brings you the news as it happens. FOX News Senior Correspondent Geraldo Rivera is reporterdly "doing well" as he recovers in a Galveston area hotel room following an injury during this afternoon's coverage of Hurricane Ike which tore it's path through the greater Texas area. While being showered with broken glass in 120 mph wind driven rain, Geraldo avoided serious injury several times as street signs, awnings, and chunks of asphalt came hurling at him. Geraldo's most serious injury was to his ego which was badly bruised because he eventually took the advice of FOX News Staffers and ran for cover in the middle of a live feed with some great camera shots to be had. Everyone was in agreement that Geraldo should stay in his room and ride the storm out to safety however, the trooper that he is, Geraldo promised to make up for this afternoon's weak reporting and surrender to the elements by going out tonight and working double duty in reporting the cleanup. He is expected to regain the full respect of his collegues. By the way, Geraldo's trademark mustache was ripped off his face just prior to ending his segment. City officials are monitoring the sewage treatment centers to avoid possible drainage problems.
